Vladimir Mayakovski (1893 - 1930), durante la Primera Guerra Mundial alcanzó notable notoriedad "por su fulgurante personalidad, su tendencia a escandalizar a los burgueses, pero sobretodo por su poesía increíble, que ya hacia 1913 muestra el sello maduro de su estilo único".
En este segundo tomo de su poesía que publicamos, recogemos su obra desde 1917 a 1930, donde nos muestra sus versos más revolucionarios y patriotas.
En esta misma colección ya se publicó otro tomo (nª 16) donde nos mostraba su poesía más fresca, rotunda y arrolladora. En la traducción directa del ruso de José Fernández Sánchez.
